H Apple εδώ και αρκετά χρόνια έχει τα αποκλειστικά δικαιώματα για το Liquidmetal, με αποτέλεσμα κατά καιρούς να ακούμε πως θα χρησιμοποιήσει το συγκεκριμένο υλικό για την κατασκευή iPhones αλλά και iPads. Πάρα αυτά μέχρι στιγμής το μόνο προϊόν που έχουμε δει από το κράμα αυτό είναι το μικρό εργαλείο που συμπεριλαμβάνει η Apple στις συσκευές της για να μπορείτε να ανοίγετε το πορτάκι της sim κάρτας.
Η Apple όμως φαίνεται να δραστηριοποιείτε εκ νέου στην συγκεκριμένη περιοχή μιας και πρόσφατα κατέθεσε 5 νέες πατέντες που δείχνουν πως θα μπορούσε να χρησιμοποιηθεί το Liquidmetal στην κατασκευή iOS συσκευών.
Το μεγάλο πλεονέκτημα της χρήσης του εν λόγω υλικού είναι η σκληρότητα και η ανθεκτικότητα ειδικά αν αναλογιστεί κανείς πως είναι καλύτερο ακόμη και του αλουμινίου που χρησιμοποιεί κατά κύριο λόγο τα τελευταία χρόνια η Apple. Επίσης είναι και κατά πολύ ελαφρύτερο.
Το Patently Apple παρουσιάζει τις πρόσφατες πατέντες της Apple ως εξής:

All five Liquidmetal patents published today include the same list of potential products as noted below:

It can be a part of a computer or its accessories, such as the hard drive tower housing or casing, laptop housing, laptop keyboard, laptop track pad, desktop keyboard, mouse, and speaker. The article can also be applied to a device such as a watch or a clock.
