Η Apple σήμερα κυκλοφόρησε για το ευρύ κοινό τις iOS και iPadOS 14.6, ουσιαστικά την 6η αναβάθμιση του iOS και iPadOS αυτής της έκδοσης που ξεκίνησε τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2020. H iOS 14.6 έρχεται ένα μήνα μετά την κυκλοφορία της iOS 14.5 μιας αναβάθμισης που είχε φέρει αρκετά νέα χαρακτηριστικά όπως αυτό του ξεκλειδώματος ενός iPhone μέσω Apple Watch.

Οι δυο αυτές αναβαθμίσεις κλασσικά είναι δωρεάν και από τώρα διαθέσιμες για τις συμβατές συσκευές μέσω O.T.A.

H 14.6 έκδοση ουσιαστικά χτίζει την βάση για την λειτουργία του Spatial Audio με Dolby Atmos και του Lossless Audio για την Apple Music υπηρεσία. Αυτές βέβαια οι δυνατότητες θα γίνουν διαθέσιμες κάποια στιγμή τον Ιούνιο.

– Lost mode option to add an email address instead of a phone number for AirTag and Find My network accessories
– AirTag will show the partially masked phone number of the owner when tapped with an NFC-capable device

Accessibility
– Voice Control users can unlock their ‌iPhone‌ for the first time after a restart using only their voice

This release also fixes the following issues:
– Unlock with Apple Watch may not work after using Lock ‌iPhone‌ on Apple Watch
– Reminders may appear as blank lines
– Call blocking extensions may not appear in Settings
– Bluetooth devices could sometimes disconnect or send audio to a different device during an active call
– ‌iPhone‌ may experience reduced performance during startup
